Minnesota Republicans in the state legislature have been laying the groundwork for an all out assault on teachers and public education since long before the 2012 legislative session began. From weakening unions through the “Right to Freeload” amendment to attacking teacher due process and pushing failed schemes to tie teacher performance to standardized test scores. Their ideas do nothing to strengthen education for students. Their ideas only serve to further the end goal of ending public education in the state and across the country.
