The Minnesota House of Representatives voted 132-0 in favor of HF1770. The bill requires teacher candidates to pass the basic skills exam. State Representative Andrea Kieffer (MN-56B) is chief author of the bill in the House. I have no problem with this bill save for one thing. Watching Representative Kieffer bring it forward only serves to remind me of the conversation I had with her in which she told me that she KNEW that the kids going in to education were the ones who had failed at everything else.
