Sen. Franken’s Floor Statement Showing Health Care Reform Helped Extend Life of Medicare

Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) touted two new reports estimating that Medicare will be solvent for longer than previously expected in part due to measures passed in 2010′s health reform law.

Polk County Commissioner Calls Medical Assistance & MinnesotaCare Recipients LAZY…

News from the county of my birth in northwestern Minnesota, it seems that it is open season on bullying the poor. Polk County Commissioner, Warren Affeldt, has taken the war on the poor to whole new level. Mostly, people just grumble about the poor getting this or the poor getting that rather than sharing their true feelings about how all those people who might be receiving any benefit at all from the government are LAZY. Bachmann: Repeal Obamacare Before It ‘Literally Kills’ People!

Apparently Bachmann couldn’t keep a low profile for long and burst back on the stage with a string of hyperbole and falsehood so outrageous she is being described as the G.O.P.’s Bachmann Problem: People like Bachmann represent everything that is wrong with the Republican Party. She and her colleagues are hyperbolic, reactionary, ill-informed and ill-intentioned, and they have become synonymous with the Republican brand. We don’t need all politicians to be Mensa-worthy, but we do expect them to be cogent and competent.
