Dear Dr. King: We Arrived…

It has taken us an extra 40 years and we may not have reached that promised land of which you spoke but we have arrived at the mountaintop. We too can see the promised land and with a little luck and your continued guidance the dream will be fulfilled… I took the ‘I Have a Dream‘ speech and plugged it into wordle: Let us all hope that our new President can take up the mantle of Dr. King and lead this nation further down the road to the promised land.

The biggest difference I noticed is the prominence of words such as prosperity and economy in the Clinton address although I cannot imagine why they are missing from the Bush address… George W. Fun With Wordle…

Recently, a colleague of mine introduced me to a fantastic website known as Wordle. Since that introduction, I have been wasting large amounts of time playing around with the site. What is wordle? Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like.
