Editorial: Senator Dille's Common Sense
The staff writer for the Hutchinson Leader wrote an interesting editorial this morning praising the career of retiring State Senator, Steve Dille. It contains much of what you might expect from an editorial praising the work of a retiring public servant. He did good things, he served his constituents well, and he is a good man who will be missed. One piece though stands out:

However, only sentences later when the subject of working in a bipartisan manner comes up, the message is clear. Benoit will have nothing to do with working across any aisle and goes so far as to imply that the “left” is opposed to … Continue reading

State Senate Candidate: "If A Vikings Fan Can Support Brett Favre, Then I Think A Moderate Republican Can Support Me"
State Senate candidate, Hal Kimball (DFL) was featured in the Hutchinson Leader on Monday where he discussed his second run for the now open Senate District 18 seat. The theme of the article and the theme of the campaign continue to be that this common sense DFL candidate can win over those moderate Republicans who are increasingly unwelcome in the Republican Party of today. From the article: “I look at what happened to Sen. Dille and I think the Republican Party has left moderates like him behind,” Kimball said. “I didn’t agree with everything that he’s done, but I think Dille’s a strong, principled leader. I admire the way he worked across party lines.” “People can see what’s going on,” he added. “I think moderate … Continue reading
