The Completely Accurate 2012 MN Election Prediction Poll
Yesterday I was asked to make some predictions about election contests here in Minnesota. I did that HERE but thought I would turn this into a larger prediction contest so here we go: Take a moment and predict who you believe will win each of the following contests. This is NOT a poll of who you WANT to win each contest but rather who you EXPECT to win. Use the comment section for any extra predictions you have or to officially register your entry so we know who took up the challenge…

Kate Engstrom Videotapes Collin Peterson And Claims NO Connection To A Campaign AFTER Appearing In Byberg Campaign Video
Recently, a college student named Kate Engstrom from Concordia College and according to an article from May of this year is President of the College Republicans secretly videotaped Representative Collin Peterson about recently losing his endorsement from Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life. In the secret video, Peterson makes the claim that the MCCL has become an extremist organization… Instead, he was surreptitiously recorded on video saying a Minnesota-based anti-abortion group that pulled its support for him this year is “extremist.” The video, recorded Tuesday after an event on campus, shows Peterson addressing the loss of an endorsement by the Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life, an anti-abortion group that has supported him in the past. The group supports the repeal of the Affordable Care Act, and … Continue reading
Representative Peterson “It’s No Wonder Nobody Likes Congress Anymore”
Yesterday, as the Republican leadership in the House of Representatives moved the body into its August vacation, Representative Collin Peterson took to the floor to remind them that their work was not done. The leadership had failed to bring up a five year farm bill which had already passed the United States Senate on a bipartisan vote. From Agweb: Peterson said he and House Ag Committee chairman Frank Lucas (R-Okla.) have worked in bipartisan spirit for months to craft a new five-year farm bill, making many important and needed reforms. “If [Lucas] had his way, we would have already passed a farm bill,” Peterson said. … “Instead of bringing up the five-year farm bill, the Republican Leadership last week put forward a one-year farm bill … Continue reading

How Many “Bills” Has YOUR MN Congressperson “Passed”?
Earlier today a tweet scrolled across my tweetdeck by a user named “Mad Voter in MN CD4” that caught my interest. The user, I assume a conservative, asked the Minnesota DFL Party and Democrats in general, I assume, to count the number of “bills” passed by Minnesota Congresswoman Betty McCollum who represents the 4th Congressional District. The implication being that McCollum is ineffective due to the perceived lack of “bills” passed. Given the limitations of twitter and its 140 character limit, the tweet did not define what types of bills or legislation or amendments were acceptable to “Mad Voter” nor did the tweet address whether they truly believed whether the number of bills passed by a member of Congress was the best metric for effectiveness. … Continue reading

BREAKING: Collin Peterson Responds To News Of Byberg Endorsement
In an exclusive press release, Outstate Politics received the following video message from the Peterson for Congress Campaign regarding the news that the MN 7th District Republican Party endorsed Lee Byberg over one term state senator, Gretchen Hoffman: It is unclear as of yet whether Byberg will resurrect his bus with the questionable imagery or his famous slogan about being “Twice American” (with accompanying sing along CD). What is clear, however, is that the Peterson campaign looks forward to another spirited campaign with Byberg.
