SurveyUSA will be coming out with a poll tonight of the 6th District for KSTP-TV. Let’s call this a prediction thread. Will Bachmann tank? Do the inherently conservative leanings of the district keep her alive?

Check It Out: How Tinklenberg Can WIN!

Back in August, my friend Jeff Rosenberg who writes Twin Cities Daily Liberal ran a series of posts about each of the congressional districts in the state with fantastic mapping of voting patterns and thoughts on the state of each race. He brought back his 6th District analysis and I would encourage anyone interested in this race to give it a read. The district voted overwhelmingly Republican in 2006, and has a Cook Partisan Voting Index of R+5. Almost all of the precincts in the district, except those in the southeastern corner, voted Republican in 2006. However, less than half voted heavily (60% or more) for Republicans, which may indicate an opportunity for Tinklenberg to pick up some votes.
