Bachmann: Repeal Obamacare Before It ‘Literally Kills’ People!
Apparently Bachmann couldn’t keep a low profile for long and burst back on the stage with a string of hyperbole and falsehood so outrageous she is being described as the G.O.P.’s Bachmann Problem: People like Bachmann represent everything that is wrong with the Republican Party. She and her colleagues are hyperbolic, reactionary, ill-informed and ill-intentioned, and they have become synonymous with the Republican brand. We don’t need all politicians to be Mensa-worthy, but we do expect them to be cogent and competent. When all the dust settles from the current dustup within the party over who holds the mantle and which direction to take, Republicans will still be left with the problem of what to do with people like Bachmann. And as long as the … Continue reading

The Completely Accurate 2012 MN Election Prediction Poll
Yesterday I was asked to make some predictions about election contests here in Minnesota. I did that HERE but thought I would turn this into a larger prediction contest so here we go: Take a moment and predict who you believe will win each of the following contests. This is NOT a poll of who you WANT to win each contest but rather who you EXPECT to win. Use the comment section for any extra predictions you have or to officially register your entry so we know who took up the challenge…

So Paul Ryan Sought Obama Stimulus & Argued For Bush Stimulus. Does Anybody Care?
A link came scrolling across my twitter this morning blaring, PAUL RYAN HYPOCRISY, with a story/video link from MSNBC show, Up With Chris Hayes. The video clearly shows Representative Paul Ryan, now Republican Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan, advocating for a government stimulus package which he now claims does not work: Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy The subsequent storyline is that Ryan, who also sought Obama stimulus dollars while claiming they didn’t work, is a hypocrite for doing so. My initial thought is probably similar to most Democrats who roll their eyes and see just another conservative hypocrite who claims to hate government but only when it is convenient for them. My second thought, however, is does anybody … Continue reading

“Phantom Candidate” To Run In MN 6th District. Needs 1000 Signatures…
Curtis Hed, who works as a professional magician and lives in Becker, announced in a facebook post yesterday that he is running for the Minnesota 6th Congressional District seat currently held by Representative Michele Bachmann. Calling himself the “phantom candidate” because the website name was available and “sounded cool“, Hed introduced his campaign and his purpose for seeking the office. Hed asked followers to provide him with signatures by Tuesday, June 5th so that his name could appear on the ballot rather than having to run a write-in campaign as he previously thought and had written on his campaign website. It is not entirely clear what issues Hed will focus on in his campaign against establishment candidates, Jim Graves (DFL) and Michele Bachmann (R), but … Continue reading
