Government Paying Black Men To Impregnate Women Says Lawmaker
It appears as though Representative Glen Gruenhagen is tired of his role as back bench crazy member of the MN House Republican Caucus. He wants the top spot! Courtesy of The Uptake: During a debate on a health care insurance bill, Representative Glenn Gruenhagen (R- Glenco, MN) claimed it would undermine “traditional marriage” and then went a few steps further. “When a country undermines traditional marriage, it cannot print up enough money to take care of all the problems that happen in our society. And we need to look no further than our welfare program and the black families in this country. Prior to the great society programs of the 60s the out of wedlock birth among black families was approximately, or was under 20 … Continue reading

“No Gay Gene”-Born This Way Is A Lie Says GOP Lawmaker
Reporting and video courtesy of The Uptake: MN State Rep. Glenn Gruenhagen, R-Glencoe, says the “born that way” explanation of homosexuality is a lie, pointing to research that concluded there is “no gay genome.” He made the comments as Republican lawmakers vowed to fight a bill making same-sex marriage legal in Minnesota. Voters in Minnesota recently defeated a Republican authored constitutional amendment that would have banned gay marriage. The latest research into a “gay gene” contradicts what Gruenhagen said. Research is focused on epigenetics, throwaway DNA that triggers hormone production in fetuses. Although scientists haven’t found a “gay gene,” they haven’t found a straight one either. This isn’t the first time Gruenhagen has made up facts. A few years ago, he claimed alcoholism and drug … Continue reading

Sen Franken’s Economic Truth (With Charts, Graphs And Pictures)
Courtesy of The Uptake: Sen Franken’s Economic Truth (With Charts, Graphs And Pictures) from The UpTake. Like this? Watch the latest episode of The UpTake on Blip! http://blip.tv/the-uptake/watch US Senator Al Franken explains very clearly how the US has historically solved economic problems, why we are in our current mess and what we need to do to get out of it. Speaking just before the Senate adjourns for the fall elections Senator Franken said “Our economy is still not yet fully recovered from a devastating recession, and the prospects for our middle class remain uncertain. Meanwhile, our budget remains sorely out of balance, and our long-term debt crisis is putting our nation?s fiscal future at risk.” “We?re not going to get anywhere if we can?t … Continue reading

GOP Senate Candidate:”Bush Tax Cuts Terrible Economic Policy”
Courtesy of The Uptake: GOP Senate Candidate:”Bush Tax Cuts Terrible Economic Policy” from The UpTake. Like this? Watch the latest episode of The UpTake on Blip! http://blip.tv/the-uptake/watch Republican candidate for Minnesota’s US Senate seat Kurt Bills surprised even his Democratic opponent Senator Amy Klobuchar when he called the Bush era tax cuts “terrible economic policy”. “You don’t put temporary tax cuts in. What are you doing? You can’t do that” Bills said in a debate with Klobuchar. After the debate Klobuchar told The UpTake’s Mike McIntee she was “surprised” by Bills’ statement because in June he signed the Grover Nordquist pledge to not raise taxes. Revoking the Bush tax cuts would be a tax increase. Klobuchar generally supports the Obama administration plan to let the … Continue reading
