Must Read… “Drazkowski has no shame, but we should”

So Representative Drazkowski is the guy who wants to heap further punishment on the poor for being, well, poor. This column takes that idea and does a pretty good job of explaining the alternative view of the subject. We will call it the compassionate view: Dignity. When you’re down on your luck, it can be the only thing you have left. To have to pee to prove you and your children are worth being fed, clothed and sheltered adds one more humiliation to families whom circumstance has already humbled. Minnesota Governor Attacks Minnesota City As "Government Town"

Governor Pawlenty, frustrated that local governments have been forced to make tough decisions after he cut Local Government Aid, took out that frustration on one Northern Minnesota city calling Bemidji a “government town” during his weekly radio show.
